Arrests made in West Haven deli shooting

West Haven, Conn (WTNH) - West Haven police have made three arrests in connection with the fatal shooting of a deli clerk last Monday.
At a press conference held Wednesday evening, police said they have arrested the shooter, a getaway driver, and a lookout involved in the armed robbery at the Post Road Deli on May 9th.
Mohammad Bilal Altinawi, 22, also known as Billy, was working at his uncle’s deli that morning, and was killed in the robbery.

Family members rejoiced at the news that arrests had been made, and met with West Haven police after the announcement. One family member told News 8 he was happy that “the shooter will be punished.”
Police have not yet released the names of the suspects or any photos.
News 8 was on the scene when one of the arrests was made, as well as at the press conference, and will have a full report on News 8 at 10pm and 11pm.
